India's Shardul Thakur was in full flow with the bat in the first innings of the fourth Test at Gabba on Sunday (January 17). He scored a well-fought 67, becoming the top-scorer for India in the innings.

The intent was clear from Thakur, he went for a shot whenever the ball was in his area. His first boundary came against Pat Cummins, which was perfectly connected for a six. 

Cummins bowled a short ball to Thakur who was new to the crease and the batsman didn't hesitate to go for a hook and clear the boundary. He hit a four in the same over and Twitterati went crazy over his batting.

Thakur was looking good enough to get a hundred but unfortunately got clean bowled by Cummins. But it was too late for Australia, the damage was already done by the lower-order batsman. India managed to minimize the lead to just 33 runs with a 123-run partnership between Thakur and Washington Sundar (62).
