India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant on Monday (January 11) once again showed a glimpse of his immense batting potential as he slammed 97 on the fifth and final day of the third Test against Australia at SCG.
Chasing Australia’s target of 407 in the fourth innings, Team India were struggling at 102/3 before Pant produced a special knock to give the visitors some hope of winning or saving the game.
The southpaw scored 97 off 118 deliveries and his innings was laced with 12 fours and 3 sixes. In the process, he also shared a 148-run stand along with Cheteshwar Pujara.
Nathan Lyon dismissed Pant in the 80th over of India’s second innings. When he got out, the tourists needed 157 runs to win the game with 5 wickets left in the tank.
