India’s Ravindra Jadeja is lighting fast in the field and his rocket throws are one of his strengths. Batsmen usually don't put themselves in a vulnerable position thinking about an extra run when the ball goes to Jadeja.
But Steve Smith isn't among them and he had to pay the price as Jadeja pulled off a stunning run-out in the third Test against Australia at SCG on Friday (January 8).

During the second day’s play, when Jadeja saw Smith pushing for the double, the former sprinted from the deep square leg toward the short fine leg and managed to get a direct hit.
It was an outstanding work from Jadeja bearing in mind that he had to cover a lot of ground and then aim at only one stump from that angle. His incredible effort ended Smith’s innings on 131 while Australia got bowled out for 338.
After the day’s play, Jadeja, who also claimed four wickets in Australia’s first innings, termed Smith’s run-out as the best fielding effort of his career so far.
"I will rewind and play this run-out as this is my best effort. A direct hit from outside the 30-yard circle and that's like a moment that gives you that satisfaction," Jadeja quoted as saying by PTI.
"Three or four wicket hauls are fine but this run-out will stay with me," he added.
Coming to the match, India ended the second day on 96/2 with skipper Ajinkya Rahane (5*) and Cheteshwar Pujara (9*) unbeaten at the crease. Shubman Gill (50*) and Rohit Sharma (26*) were the two dismissed batsmen.
