AUS v IND 2020-21: KL Rahul wishes India good luck for last two Tests; says gutted to be leaving the team

India and Australia will play the third Test of Border-Gavaskar trophy at SCG from January 7.

India batsman KL Rahul posted good luck for the team before the last two Tests in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He took to Twitter and expressed his disappointment on leaving the team.

Rahul got ruled out of the ongoing Test series against Australia on Tuesday (January 5) because of injury. The 28-year-old suffered an injury to his wrist while batting in the nets and is now returning to India.

"Gutted to be leaving the team, but wishing the boys all the luck for the remaining two Tests.", wrote Rahul on his official Twitter account.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Honorary Secretary Jay Shah had released an official statement after his injury.

"KL Rahul sprained his left wrist while batting in the nets at the MCG during Team India’s practice session on Saturday. The wicketkeeper-batsman will not be available for the remaining two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as he will need about three weeks time to recover completely and regain full strength."

Rahul will now return to India and he will head to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for further rehabilitation.

India and Australia are currently tied with one win each ahead of the Sydney Test, starting on January 7.
