Australia skipper Tim Paine on Monday (December 28) grabbed the headlines with his cheeky sledging to Ravindra Jadeja after the latter ran out his captain Ajinkya Rahane in an attempt to get to his half-century in the ongoing Boxing Day Test.

Jadeja was batting on 49 when he tapped a Nathan Lyon delivery into the off-side and rushed for a quick single. Initially, Rahane seemed to have completed the run but the replays confirmed his bat was on the line and he was given out.
Soon after the dismissal, Paine sledged Jadeja, saying “Get the knife out this time, not the sword”, referring to his famous sword celebration which he performs upon reaching fifty or hundred.
Two deliveries later, Jadeja did complete his half-century and as expected brought out the trademark celebration.
However, the India all-rounder had the last laugh as he dismissed the Australian captain for just 1 in the second innings to put the visitors in a commanding position.
Jadeja removing Paine saw Australia losing their sixth wicket for 99 runs in the second essay, still needing 32 runs to avoid the innings defeat.
Earlier, the tourists rode on skipper Rahane’s 112 and Jadeja’s 57 to post 326/10 in the first innings after bowling out Australia for 195.
