The Australian side will get even stronger when their first-choice opener, David Warner, attains full fitness and joins the Test squad against India. Currently, Australian coach Justin Langer is hopeful that the star batsman will be back for the 3rd Test, which is set to commence on 6 January 2021 in SCG, Sydney.

Warner had injured his groin during the second ODI against India and had to leave the field immediately. He has been recovering well now and is looking good during his fitness tests, according to the Australian coach.

Justin Langer told ANI, "I am very hopeful, he batted really well in the Test yesterday. He is moving well and as enthusiastic as ever. He has got so much energy and passion for the game so. And for the last week or so he is doing everything possible to get back onto the ground."

"Fingers crossed he has slight trouble when he starts running at full speed. When he gets back that confidence of course he will back in the team. We are monitoring him regularly and just fingers crossed if he's back and everyone loves watching him play cricket, so it's also for the entertainment of the fan," he added.

David Warner was in blistering form in the IPL 2020 that was conducted in the UAE and then continued his form at home in the first two ODIs against India.

The return of Warner in the Test side will definitely boost their performance given their confidence will have rocketed sky high after winning the first Test in under 3 days.
