Australian opener Joe Burns was in a similar situation that Prithvi Shaw finds himself in. He wasn't the obvious choice for the first Test because of his below-par returns in the domestic competition and practice games against India.

However, Burns managed to lengthen his string of opportunities by making an unbeaten half-century in the second innings to take Australia over the line on the third day. The reporters asked him to give some advice to his counterpart Prithvi Shaw to return to form but Burns believes otherwise.

Burns told ANI, "I wouldn't give him any advice as I am playing against him. I'm hoping that he makes no runs at all. I actually don't know what form he is been in. I haven't been following him."

"He is obviously a quality player if he is playing for India. I might give advice at the end of the series, but not after the first game," he added.

Australia steamrolled India in the second innings by reducing them to their lowest Test total in their 78-year-long history. The home team chased down a paltry total of 90 runs in the second innings with 8 wickets in hand. Burns's return to form will be another plus for the home side.

"More than anything else, it was nice to get back in the rhythm. Just wanted to get the job done and an amazing day for Australia cricket. We had bowled well in the first inning too but didn't get any reward," Burns said.
