Former England captain Michael Vaughan reminded fans of the predictions he made ahead of the Test series. India lost the first Test against Australia by 8 wickets on Saturday (December 19).

India, who looked ahead in the match after the first innings, were bowled out on 36 runs in the second innings. They were destroyed by Aussie pacers, Josh Hazelwood and Pat Cummins, who bagged five and four wickets respectively.

"Told ya ... India are going to get hammered in the Test Series ... #AUSvIND #4-0," wrote Vaughan after India's defeat.

The Englishman had posted a tweet a month back saying India would lose the Test series easily. "No @imVkohli for 3 Tests in Australia .. The right decision going to be at the birth of his first child .. but it means Australia will win the series quite easily IMO .. #JustSaying," he posted.

Even ahead of the first Test, Vaughan said if India loses the pink-ball Test they will lose the series 4-0. He felt the absence of David Warne may keep India in the game.

"David Warner missing the first Test gives India a little bit of hope. There is a little bit of confusion about who will open the batting for Australia in Tests. Will Pucovski has been concussed. But that Smith-Labuschagne combination and Travis Head getting better.

"Also, I don’t see many batting units that will consistently get big scores in Australia against this Australian attack. That is why 4-0.”, he had told Cricbuzz.

India will be playing the upcoming three Tests without Virat Kohli. In his absence, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane is going to lead the side.
