During the 15th over of Australia’s innings in the ongoing Adelaide Test, Jasprit Bumrah induced a thick edged off Marnus Labuschagne’s bat. Saha, who usually takes blinder behind the stumps, dived to his right to complete the grab but the ball went under his gloves.

Sharing his thoughts on the same, Ponting, who is covering the series as a commentator, said: "That's a poor piece of keeping, not to get anything on it."

Taking to Twitter, 7Cricket uploaded a GIF of Saha’s over the top dive with Ponting’s comment in the caption.

Earlier, Ricky Ponting had also expressed surprise over Rishabh Pant’s exclusion from the Day-Night Test in Adelaide.

“I’m surprised [that Rishabh Pant wasn’t picked]. I think he’s a terrific young player, X-factor about him with the bat. Probably, not as good a keeper as [Wriddhiman] Saha and that’s probably the reason they’ve left him out,” he said on Day 1 while commentating.

It is worth mentioning here that the Indian team management overlooked Pant for the series opener despite his stellar showing with the bat in the second warm-up game against Australia ‘A’.

The southpaw had slammed century in just 73 deliveries to put the visitors in a commanding position.
