Mumbai Indians bowling coach Shane Bond has seen enough of Jasprit Bumrah to analyze his game inside out. According to Bond, the Indian pacer is yet to arrive at the peak of his performances on this tour and the Test series will be better for him than the other two formats.
Jasprit Bumrah was not a part of the Indian team that played its first-ever pink-ball Test against Bangladesh and has also not played any Day/Night First Class cricket.
However, Bond is of the opinion that Bumrah likes to keep doing new things and that will help him perform upto expectations with the pink ball.
Shane Bond told AAP, "Booms [Bumrah] has been out here before and been very successful but he's still interested in different ways to do things. That's one of his greatest strengths."
"If he has the ball at the right time of night and it's reasonably new then he can banana it both ways at 145k plus and do all sorts of damage," he added.
The pitches on offer in the recently concluded ODI series weren't really bowler-friendly and Bond feels that Bumrah will be unhappy with the fact that he didn't get enough wickets. The Indian pacer picked 4 wickets in 3 games, which was the joint-most for India in the series with Mohammad Shami.
Bond said, "He takes a great deal of pride in his performance and I know he'll be annoyed he hasn't quite got the results so far that he's wanted. The wickets were pretty flat in the ODI series to be fair."
"I'm sure the tour is going to get better for Booms ... he'll be a real handful and is the sort of bowler who can very quickly change a game if he gets it right," he concluded.
