India batsman Prithvi Shaw tried his hands at bowling against Australia A on the final day of the tour match. He bowled three overs and went wicketless, while the game was heading towards a draw.
In the last over of the day, Shaw bowled a ripper which caught everyone by surprise, including wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha. The leg-spinner managed to produce a perfect delivery which was pitched on the middle and leg stump line before turning away from the batsman Jack Wildermuth.
Commentators had a laugh about it and they also got reminded of the great Aussie leg-spinner Shane Warne. It was an achievement for Shaw to make the batsman, wicket-keeper, and slip fielder Ajinkya Rahane miss the delivery completely.
Saha can be seen appreciating the delivery from behind the stumps in the video shared by Shaw. "It’s good to surprise sometimes the safest pair of hands in the business @wriddhi bhai @ajinkyarahane dadaa. It will come your way again," he said on Instagram.
Wildermuth (111*) and Ben McDermott (107*) saved the game for Australia A. They were 3 down on 25 and later 142/4 when these two went on to add a partnership of 165 runs.
