Gill was batting on well made 65 before umpire ruled him out on a loud appeal for catch and LBW, both.

Indian batsman Shubman Gill got out to a controversial decision by the umpire during the ongoing tour match against Australia A. Gill was given caught after a loud appeal by the Australia A leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson.

Initially, it looked like the fielders were appealing for an LBW, but the umpire surprisingly gave Gill out caught in the slips. With no DRS available in the practice match, the decision could not be challenged.

In real-time replay and to the naked eye, there wasn't enough evidence available to be sure about an edge from Gill. Even former India batsman Aakash Chopra wasn't convinced with the decision.

Gill was looking good to get a big score before given out on 77-ball 65 in 25th over of India's innings. Even in the first innings, he looked solid with his start, but failed to utilize the start and fell for 43 runs.

India scored 194 runs in the first innings and bowled Australia A out on 108 in reply.
