India secured their first win on the Australia tour after getting defeated twice in the three-match ODI series. India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja played a crucial knock in a partnership with Hardik Pandya to take India's total to 302/5.

At one stage, India was five down on 152, and crossing 300 looked a tough task. Jadeja (66*) and Pandya (92*) put up an unbeaten partnership of 150 runs to reach a safe score.

Jadeja, while talking to Yuzvendra Chahal on 'Chahal TV, acknowledged the importance of their partnership.

"The plan was simple, Hardik and I kept on talking about how to build the partnership. We both knew that were no frontline batsmen left after us. We were aware of not losing any wickets and both of us were looking to play till the end. It was very crucial that we took the team to a respectable score," Jadeja told Chahal.

The contribution from Jadeja with the ball was vital as he bagged the wicket of Australia skipper Aaron Finch. "I was thinking about bowling stump-to-stump. There was little turn on offer so I tried to utilize that."

India won the third ODI by 13 runs and Hardik Pandya was the Man of the Match for his sensational knock. Shardul Thakur picked three wickets while T Natarajan and Jasprit Bumrah bagged two wickets each.
