AUS v IND 2020-21: BCCI gives update on Rohit and Ishant’s fitness; Natarajan added to ODI squad

Natarajan was initially picked as a net bowler for the Australian tour.

The BCCI selection panel has given an update on the Team India squad for the upcoming series against Australia down under. 

This update has come on the eve of the first ODI between Australia and India in Sydney.  

It sees T Natarajan being added to the ODI squad as a backup to pacer Navdeep Saini who complained of a back spasm, as per BCCI media advisory.  

The advisory also gave an update on Update on the injuries of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma. 

As per the advisory, Rohit Sharma had to come back to India from UAE after the IPL to check on his ailing father and now that is father is recovering well, he is in NCA rehabbing his hamstring injury. 

Rohit Sharma’s next assessment will be conducted on December 11th following which the BCCI will have clarity on his participation in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. 

While on the other hand, Ishant has recovered completely from his side strain injury sustained during IPL 2020 in the U.A.E. He’s currently building up his workload in order to achieve Test match fitness, but has been ruled out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
