The veteran spinner also revealed his favorite West Indies cricketer.
After a remarkable England tour in which the visitors won both the T20I and ODI series by a score of 2-1, Team India are all set for the Caribbean tour, which gets underway on July 22.
The West Indies tour will kick off with a three-match ODI series, following which the two teams will clash in a five-T20I series, which starts on July 29. The Men in Blue will be led by Shikhar Dhawan in the absence of Rohit Sharma for the ODI leg of the tour.
In an interview with FanCode prior to the series, India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin discussed his favorite game between the two teams. He recalled a game from 1997 when India toured the Caribbean for a multi-format series.

In the third Test of the five-match series, the tourists were set a meager target of 120 to win the Test but fell short by 38 runs.
“India were about to chase 120 in a Test match with lots of time. 120 to get, I thought it will be the best chance for India to win a Test match in West Indies. And I think, having played cricket for a while I can safely say that wicket was not a wicket where 120 could be chased. Quite a memory, India couldn't chase 120. I was quite heartbroken as a fan,” Ashwin recalled.
Apart from VVS Laxman, no Indian batter could reach double digits in the second innings. Ian Bishop was the leading wicket-taker for his team with 4 wickets to his name and Sir Curtly Ambrose and Franklyn Rose took three wickets each.
In the video, Ashwin also revealed that he was the ‘biggest fan’ of legendary batter Brian Lara.
“I was the biggest fan of Brian Lara, his 375 followed up by 400 was something that really attracted me towards the West Indies,” the 35-year-old said.
