Spain has lost more than 8,000 lives due to Coronavirus pandemic.
Rohit was named the Spanish Football League’s first non-footballer brand ambassador last year and has become the face of the league in India, where the following for the game has risen sharply.

“I have seen it so many times on television. I can't even imagine how it is at the stadium so many people sitting and watching El Clasico game between the two best clubs in the world. It is one of the most competitive leagues in the world,” Rohit had said after becoming the La Liga brand ambassador.
However, the league was suspended in March after the Coronavirus outbreak reached its zenith in Spain. The players of many Spanish clubs are taking massive pay cuts so that the employees can get full salaries. Spain has seen more than 94,000 cases of COVID-19, with more than 8,100 people dying.
In these testing times, La-Liga’s face in India, Rohit Sharma had a special message for his and the league’s fans, which started with, ”It’s time to prove why Football was more than just a sport.”
