During the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh on Saturday (May 9), broadcasters committed a major gaffe by displaying the Indian playing XI instead of Pakistan's, causing widespread mockery on social media.
The graphic, intended to show the Pakistan team, incorrectly listed: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, and Mukesh Kumar.
Fans were in splits over the error, with many taking to X to share memes and jokes, taking a dig on the production team's quality control.
Coming to the match, Bangladesh posted 413/10 in their first innings at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, driven by captain Najmul Hossain Shanto's 101 runs (130 balls) and Mominul Haque's 91.
Shanto’s innings, featuring 12 fours and two sixes, was his fifth Test century as captain. Mominul, who narrowly missed a century, helped stabilize the innings following early wickets, with Mushfiqur Rahim adding a crucial 71 runs.
Mohammad Abbas starred with the ball for the visitors, returning with a five-wicket haul (5-92) after Pakistan skipper Shan Masood won the toss and opted to bowl first.
