The interaction turned awkward when the fan’s phone battery died.
Rohit Sharma is widely recognized as one of the greatest white-ball cricketers, modern-day captains, and prolific opening batters in international cricket.
Nicknamed the "Hitman," Rohit enjoys a massive fan following. A glimpse of the same was recently seen when a female fan got way too excited upon seeing the former India and Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper and getting a chance to click a picture with him.
However, the interaction turned awkward when the fan’s phone battery died, forcing her to abandon the selfie attempt. Rohit, initially looking amused, seemed caught off guard by the frantic moment.
MI shared a video of this moment on social media, in which the fan was highly enthusiastic, saying "Aap best ho (You are the best)", but her selfie attempt was cut short by the phone issue.
“Mera phone off ho gaya (My mobile phone switched off),” she can be heard saying in the clip.
The female fan rushed to find another phone while Rohit was walking to the MI team bus. Before finally taking the photo, he asked her to move quickly, saying, "Aap jaldi karo bhai (Please do it quickly)."
After apologizing repeatedly, the fan was finally able to get a picture with Rohit.
Here’s the video:
Rohit Sharma, who missed five IPL 2026 matches for Mumbai Indians due to a hamstring injury, made a blockbuster return in the previous match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium.
The right-hander slammed 84 runs off 44 balls, including six fours and seven sixes, powering MI to overhaul the daunting target of 229 with six wickets in hand and 10 balls to spare. This win kept MI’s playoff hopes alive.
