Running between the wickets require precise communication between the two batsmen and a sense of awareness from everyone on the field. However, there have been instances from one country in international cricket that has made a separate place for itself in the history of comical runouts and that is Pakistan.
With the king of hilarious runouts in their ranks in Inzamam-ul-Haq, Pakistan has always given one or other way to find their players getting out in hilarious ways while running between the wickets. And we have collated five of such run outs for you.
Here are the Top 5 most comical Pakistani run outs in international cricket
MOHAMMAD AMIR
Amir hit Devendra Bishoo towards long-on and was admiring his shot while staying in the crease. He and partner Wahab Riaz had hoped that the ball would reach the boundary, but West Indian fielder Roston Chase, gave the ball a hard chase and stopped the ball short of the boundary and threw it towards the bowling end.
Amir was caught in his own world in the middle of the pitch and desperately tried to make the crease, losing his bat in the process, but was run out.

MISBAH-UL-HAQ
However, while reaching the popping crease, Misbah jumped in the air to avoid the throw from the fielder from hitting him and the ball slid underneath him and hit the stumps while no part of his body or bat was grounded.
Misbah instantly knew that he had done a stupid thing and had his hand on his head and replays confirmed that he was run out in the most comical fashion ever.

UMAR AKMAL AND SHOAIB MAQSOOD
This led to Akmal running for his life towards non-striker’s end and both the batsmen were found to be at the same end. Replays determined who made his ground first and Akmal was found to be short.

INZAMAM-UL-HAQ
There can be a whole list made out of Inzamam Ul Haq’s comical running between the wickets. From being the most famous victim of Jonty Rhodes’ Superman run out in 1992 World Cup, to this gem of a run out in the 1999 World Cup against Australia.
Damien Fleming bowled a toe-crushing yorker to Inzamam and Inzy ambled a few steps to take a run, fell down on his knees and started to crawl back into his crease. In the meantime, Wasim Akram, the non-striker had reached the other end and made his ground.
Wasim Akram famously recalls this incident as Inzamam asking Wasim, what he was doing here? Replays showed that Wasim made his ground before Inzamam and Inzy limped his way back to the pavilion.

AZHAR ALI
Azhar Ali edged a ball towards the third man and seemingly the ball was going to the boundary. Azhar and Asad Shafiq met in the middle of the pitch, there was a glove punch (for a shot that was edged nonetheless) and began discussing the day.
Meanwhile, the ball didn’t reach the boundary and Mitchell Starc ran from slips to gather the ball and throw to keeper Tim Paine, who removed the bails in an instant, with Azhar and Shafiq looking bewildered. Azhar was like a deer caught in headlights and scratched his head out of the ground to the pavilion.
