In reply, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan wiped off the target in 18.4 overs with Sharma making 76* and Dhawan making 31* as India finished on 114/0 and won the first ODI by 10 wickets, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
During their 18th century partnership, Dhawan and Rohit also became only the second Indian pair after Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly and the fourth overall to add more than 5,000 runs for the opening wicket in ODIs.
