England, chasing 272 to win on the last day, were bowled out for only 120.
India defeated England by 151 runs at Lord's to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series. It looked like a tough task to win the match for India after England needed just two sessions to survive for a draw and they had all 10 wickets in hand.
But the Indian bowling attack showed why they are rated among the best in red-ball cricket. England were bundled out for 120 runs while chasing 272 runs and India secured a comfortable victory in the second Test.
India's win came after a day of their 75th Independence Day and Rohit Sharma recalled his interaction with a journalist in a press conference after the first innings.

A reporter had said that if the match ends on the fourth day in India's favor, the nation could celebrate the Indian cricket team's Test match win with Independence Day on August 15.
Rohit, who was not expecting it, hilariously gave the reporter a salute and said that if something like this happens, it will be a big thing for Indian cricket. Now it has happened, but with a delay of a day.
"देर आए दुरुस्त आए! Brilliant win at Lord’s. Proper team show. A memorable one!", Rohit wrote after the win and shared the video on his Twitter account. Rohit had scored 83 runs while opening the innings with KL Rahul, who smashed an unbeaten hundred.
