India lead by 154 runs with four wickets in hand at Stumps.
The fourth day of the ongoing Lord's Test saw the hosts taking control with a disciplined bowling performance as India lost six wickets while scoring just 181 runs in the 82 overs that were possible before bad light ended play.
Rohit Sharma (21) and KL Rahul (5) could not put up a sizeable partnership for the first time in the series and to make matters worse captain Virat Kohli (20) was dismissed cheaply again as India slumped to 56/3 at lunch.
Cheteshwar Pujara (45) and Ajinkya Rahane (61) put on a 100-run partnership for the fourth wicket in nearly 50 overs but then departed in quick succession just when India had begun to breathe little easy. Ravindra Jadeja (3) also went cheaply in fading light. Rishabh Pant (14*) and Ishant Sharma (4*) were at the crease when play was called off with the light fading away quickly.
Mark Wood was the most successful bowler for England with three wickets, while Moeen Ali picked up two and Sam Curran took the important scalp of Virat Kohli.
As the light kept getting worse with dark clouds hovering over the Lord's ground, Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seen getting agitated asking their batsmen to talk to the umpires about the light. It made for some really funny scenes as both made gestures complaining and questioning why play was being allowed to continue.
