India's opener Rohit Sharma came up with a witty response in the press conference after the end of Day 1 at Lord's. He had an impactful day with the bat as the right-hander scored 83 runs while opening the innings with KL Rahul, who smashed an unbeaten hundred.
After the day's play, Rohit gave a hilarious response to a reporter who reminded him that India could win the match on Independence Day.
The reporter said that if the match ends on the fourth day in India's favor, the nation could celebrate the Indian cricket team's Test match win with Independence Day on August 15.
Rohit, who was not expecting it, hilariously gave the reporter a salute and said that if something like this happens, it will be a big thing for Indian cricket.
