The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced their 15-man squad for the ICC World Cup 2023 tournament and one of the names on the list was that of pacer Naveen Ul Haq, who was included despite playing his last List-A match in 2021.

However, the fans on social media were happier as they are waiting for a potential, mouth-watering face-off between Naveen Ul Haq and India’s Virat Kohli when India and Afghanistan clash on October 11 in the World Cup at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

This is due to the infamous fight the two cricketers had during a match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Both during the match and when the players from the two sides were shaking hands, Naveen and Virat came face-to-face for a war of words.

Meanwhile, the Afghanistan squad will be led by Hashmatullah Shahidi and feature big names like Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and other usual players.

Asia Cup 2023: Naseem Shah ruled out of remaining Asia Cup with shoulder injury; Pakistan name replacement

Gulbadin Naib, Sharafudin Ashraf, and Farid Malik were named as reserves.

Therefore, with the potential face-off between Virat Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq for the first time since IPL 2023 on the cards, the fans shared their excitement on social media platform X.
