Pakistan clinched the last-over thriller by five wickets.
The ongoing Asia Cup 2022 has already seen some fantastic matches and there was another addition on Sunday as Pakistan defeated India by five wickets in a last-over thriller in the Super-4 clash in Dubai to avenge their defeat by the same margin on the previous weekend.
Rohit Sharma, captain of India, had a difficult night as his side could not defend a score of 181/7 despite picking up his counterpart Babar Azam cheaply. Mohammad Rizwan (71) and Mohammad Nawaz (42) starred for Pakistan in the run-chase with Asif Ali contributing 16 off 8 to help the team cross the line.
Asif, however, should have been out for a first-ball duck as he tried to take on Ravi Bishnoi in the 18th over and offered a simple chance to Arshdeep Singh only for the fast bowler to spill it.
At the time, Pakistan needed 31 off 15 balls. Asif made full use of the opportunity and cashed in on the new life as he and Khushdil Shah took 19 runs off the 19th over bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar to leave just 7 runs for the final over.

Arshdeep maintained his composure in the final over and even trapped Asif in front of his stumps, but by then it was too late as just 2 runs were required off the last two balls. Iftikhar Ahmed completed the formalities off the penultimate ball of the match to seal a memorable win for Pakistan.
