Team India continued their dominance in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 as they crushed Hong Kong by 40 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday (August 31).

Asked to bat first, the Men in Blue posted a massive 192/2 in their allotted 20 overs on the back of unbeaten half-centuries from Suryakumar Yadav (68* off 26 balls) and Virat Kohli (59* off 44 balls).

Ayush Shukla was the pick of the bowlers for Hong Kong, returning with the figures of 1 for 29 in his four overs.

Defending the total, the Men in Blue restricted Hong Kong to 152/5. Ravindra Jadeja starred with the ball for India as he claimed a wicket by conceding just 15 runs in his four overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1-15) too bowled economically and picked a scalp in his three overs.

It was a disappointing batting display from Hong Kong. While some batters got starts, they failed to convert it into a substantial score. Babar Hayat was the top scorer with 35-ball 41.

With this victory, India also became the second team after Afghanistan to make it to the Super 4s of the Asia Cup 2022.

For their all-round brilliance, Rohit Sharma and his men received rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
