Easwaran is named in the India squad as a standby player for England tour.
Bengal batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran is part of the jumbo squad for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand followed by the five-match Test series in England, as the national selectors on Friday (May 7) announced the squad for the United Kingdom tour.
Easwaran, who is an India A regular, has been named in the India squad as standby player alongside Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, and Arzan Nagwaswalla on Friday.
The right-hander, who is a seasoned campaigner in First-Class and List A circuit, was part of the reserves in the home series against England and now is excited to fly overseas as he is eager to take in knowledge from the greats of the game like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Cheteshwar Pujara.

Abhimanyu believes that he can improve as a batsman while being with the Indian stars like Kohli, Rohit, and Pujara, as he is eyeing to make the most of his time in the UK having already experienced the expertise of Indian stalwarts from close quarters during the home series against England
Easwaran told Sportstar: “We had only heard about it. We got to know how Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Cheteshwar Pujara practice. They are very specific. They just do what they would be doing in the match. And when you actually see them do the same thing the next day, it feels great.”
The 25-year-old Bengal batsman concluded, “If I can improve as a player in that tour, that will be good. And if I get an opportunity, I will make the most of it.”
Noteworthy, Abhimanyu has amassed 2875 runs in 62 matches at a staggering average of 48.72. In FC cricket, he has 4401 runs to his name in 64 matches with an average of 43.57.
