Ashes 2019: Steve Smith poses in glasses with Jack Leach; England Cricket takes a funny jibe on Twitter

England was really good in the fifth Ashes Test against archrivals Australia at The Oval in London as they handed a defeat by 135 runs to the visitors. After a thrilling Test match, Steve Smith was seen sporting spectacles while posing with England spinner Jack Leach.

England Cricket came up with a witty comment for Steve Smith as their official Twitter handle tweeted, “An all-time great - and Steve Smith. Congratulations on an incredible #Ashes series @stevesmith49. Leachy loves the glasses.

After the fifth Test, Steve Smith who was the leading run-scorer of the series with 774 runs said, “I have given it my all while I have been here for the last four-and-a-half months, but I didn’t have much more to give today. I was pretty cooked mentally and physically and I am looking forward to a couple of weeks off and heading back for the Australian summer.” 

The 30-year-old made a fantastic comeback to Test arena and made it to the top of ICC Test Rankings. It was a nice reception when I walked off, would have been nice to have a few more runs under my belt,” the right-hand batsman said.
