As many as 12 players so far retained for The Women’s Hundred 2022.
Indian Women's cricket stars Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues have been retained by their respective franchises, the Southern Brave and the Northern Superchargers, for The Women's Hundred 2022.
However, the three other Indian players, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, and Deepti Sharma, who were part of the inaugural edition of the 100-ball tournament in England, have been released by their respective franchises ahead of The Women’s Hundred 2022.
Shafali was released by the Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit let go of Deepti Sharma, and Manchester Originals didn’t retain Harmanpreet. However, the Indian trio will be available for selection by other teams for the 2022 edition of the Women’s Hundred.

In the Women’s Hundred 2021, Mandhana amassed 167 runs from 7 innings at a strike rate of 133.60 before she flew back home to spend time with her family before the Australia tour, while Rodrigues managed nearly 250 runs from 5 innings at an average of 60.25 and a strike rate of 154.48.
Apart from Mandhana and Rodrigues, Sophie Devine (Birmingham Phoenix), Lizelle Lee (Manchester Originals), Laura Wolvaardt (Northern Superchargers), Hayley Matthews (Welsh Fire), Perry Ellyse (Birmingham Phoenix), and Alyssa Healy (Northern Superchargers) are among the 12 overseas players to have been retained for the 100-ball competition so far.
Notably, the teams retained the Australian players for the next edition despite the fact that they didn’t take part in the tournament last year. The new signings for The Women’s Hundred 2022 will be announced by the eight teams on March 30.
