Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma on Tuesday (22nd February) said that Indian skipper Rohit Sharma must learn not to express his anger at his teammates during the match.

Rohit Sharma’s stint as the full-time white-ball Indian skipper started on a high as India whitewashed West Indies 3-0 in both ODIs and T20Is. While he was praised for his tactics and field placements during the matches, the captain was also seen getting angry on the field.

In one of the matches, Rohit Sharma expressed his anger to Yuzvendra Chahal while setting up an attacking field in the death overs. He also was frustrated with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who dropped a catch off his bowling in the second T20I during a crucial phase.

If this was not enough, he fumed at Ishan Kishan after he missed a run-out chance in the third T20I.

Rohit Sharma, who is known for his calm nature, caught the attention of many fans after his aggressive nature on the field. They were also of the opinion that the Indian skipper should not lose his cool and make his teammates understand their fault.

Speaking on the YouTube channel Khelneeti, Virat Kohli's childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma said although Rohit Sharma is considered a cool captain, he showed his anger on the field against West Indies.

He remarked that the Indian skipper must learn to express his anger and if someone commits mistakes he needs to make him understand more calmly.

Rohit Sharma is considered a cool captain, but we have seen him get angry on the field lately. He must learn to not express his anger at his teammates in public. If someone makes a mistake, then he needs to make them understand in a calmer way," Rajkumar Sharma said.

Rajkumar Sharma further said that it was good to see Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli working together. He highlighted that MS Dhoni also helped Kohli when he was skipper of the team.

“It's good to see Rohit and Virat working together. We have seen this in the past as well when Kohli was the captain. He used to field in the deep during the death overs and MS Dhoni was handling things in the middle," he said.

Team India will now lock horns against Sri Lanka in three T20Is and two Test matches at home from February 24 to March 16. While Rohit Sharma will lead the side in both formats, Virat Kohli has been rested for the T20I series.
