T20 World Cup 2022: Indian cricket fraternity reacts as India registers comprehensive 56-run win over Netherlands

The 23rd match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 saw India register a big win over the Netherlands at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on October 27, 2022, to get their second consecutive win in Group 2.

India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first. Though KL Rahul failed once more, Rohit Sharma made 53 off 39 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes and led from the front. Then Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav added 95* runs in 48 balls.

Virat Kohli continued his good form and made his second consecutive half-century, as he finished on 62* in 44 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes to his name. Suryakumar Yadav hit 7 fours and 1 six in his 51* in just 25 balls, as India finished on 179/2 in 20 overs.

In reply, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled two maidens in the first three overs and got the wicket of Vikramjit Singh. But after that, the Indian bowlers kept picking wickets at regular intervals, as Tim Pringle (20), Colin Ackerman (17) and Max O’Dowd, and Bas de Leede with 16 runs each were the main contributors.

The Netherlands finished with 123/9 as Paul van Meerkeren hit Arshdeep Singh for 3 fours in the last over. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, R Ashwin, and Akshar Patel picked two wickets each as India won by 56 runs and now has 4 points from 2 matches.

Suryakumar Yadav was named the Player of the Match for his 51* in 25 balls.
