India lost the first Test in Centurion by an innings and 32 runs.
The Indian batting line-up failed to step up as a unit in both innings, getting bowled out for 245 and 131 to lose the Test match inside three days.
India’s bowling was also found wanting in the Boxing Day Test. The visitors conceded 408 runs in the only innings that they bowled.
After a dismal show in Centurion, the Indian players seem determined to make amends in the second Test at Newlands, Cape Town.
In a video shared by the BCCI on X (formerly Twitter), Rohit Sharma and his men can be seen fine-tuning their skills in the nets.
It was an optional practice session but the likes of Rohit, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin and young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal sweat it out in the nets. Pacer Prasidh Krishna, who made his Test debut in Centurion, also had a net session alongside Mukesh Kumar.
The highlight of the video was uncapped batter Abminanyu Easwaran having an intense practice session.

With the Centurion Test loss, India conceded an unassailable 1-0 lead to South Africa in the two-match Test series. The visiting team will reportedly fly to Cape Town for the New Year’s Test on Sunday (December 31).
The second and final Test is scheduled to get underway on January 3.
