Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj and Rohit Sharma big gainers in ICC Test Players' rankings after 2nd Test v West Indies

Young India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and pacer Mohammed Siraj were the major beneficiaries in the latest ICC Test players rankings update on Wednesday after the second Test against the West Indies which ended in a draw in Trinidad due to rain. India won the two-Test series 1-0 as they had defeated the hosts in the first Test in Dominica.

Jaiswal, who had hit an amazing 171 in his debut in Dominica Test, hit 57 and 38 points in the second Test which helped him climb 11 places to reach 63rd position, accumulating a total of 466 rating points, among batters in the latest ICC Test rankings released on Wednesday.

India captain Rohit Sharma moved to ninth place thanks to his 80 and 57 in the second Test, consolidating his position as the highest-ranked Indian Test batter with 759 points. He shares the 9th spot with Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne.

Marnus Labuschagne of Australia and Joe Root of England, have made significant progress, each rising three places to reach the second and third positions, respectively. Kane Williamson still reigns supreme at no.1 of the Test batting rankings.

England opener Zak Crawley experienced a notable jump of 13 places to secure the 35th position, while Harry Brook reached the 11th position, and Jonny Bairstow climbed three places to joint-19th, after the fourth Test in Manchester.

Pacers Mark Wood (up three places to 23rd) and Chris Woakes (up five places to 31st) are the main gainers for England.

India spinner R Ashwin with 879 points remains no.1 in the ICC Test bowling rankings, while Ravindra Jadeja (782) has climbed to sixth. Pacer Mohammad Siraj has also seen an upward movement as he rose six places to 33rd, after his five-wicket haul in Trinidad Test which earned him Player of the Match as well.

In the all-rounders' rankings, Jadeja and Ashwin continue to hold onto the top two spots, while Akshar Patel is static at number five.

Sri Lanka spinner Prabath Jayasuriya's seven-wicket haul in Galle Test helped him move to a career-best 7th spot. Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed (up 12 places to 45th) and West Indies left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican (up six places to 62nd) are among the others to advance.
