Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan has been hogging the limelight thanks to his tons of runs in domestic cricket and spree of centuries in the domestic circuit for the last 2-3 years. He has scored more than 900 runs in each of the last two seasons, and in the ongoing 2022–23 season as well, he has impressed with his show.

The 25-year-old batter has already made three centuries in six matches played this season. But despite this, he has still not managed to break down the door of the Indian cricket team. Much has been said ever since he was ignored for the Bangladesh Test tour and most recently for the first two Tests of the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia.

There were high chances of Sarfaraz Khan finally getting into the Indian team, but the selection committee chose to give Suryakumar Yadav a spot in the Indian squad.

Now in an interview with the Indian Express, Sarfaraz’s father Naushad Khan, who is also his and his brother Musheer’s coach, recalled a touching story about his elder son, which also included Arjun Tendulkar, the son of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

Naushad said that when Sarfaraz went to junior games, he used to play and meet Arjun Tendulkar.

He said: "Abbu, Arjun, kitna naseeb wala haina? He has everything in life, like cars, ipads, etc." The cricketer’s father felt helpless at that time and didn’t say anything, but then the young Sarfaraz came back and gave his dad a tight hug and added, "I am more fortunate than him because my dad gets to spend the whole day with me. Arjun’s father can’t spend enough time with him."

Sarfaraz was disappointed when he did not receive an India call-up, but he responded by scoring a century against Delhi in the Ranji Trophy match earlier this week.
