West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine has heaped praises on India’s star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.

Speaking to journalist Vimal Kumar, Narine said the current Indian captain always looks in form and also hailed his leadership skills.

“Rohit is a quality player. There is no doubting his ability and I think once he is on the go, he is one of the best batters to watch. He is always in form and never looks out of form whether he is scoring runs or not. He is someone I always love to watch,” Narine stated.

“He has had plenty of success as India captain – his IPL record is obviously good. He has a terrific head on his shoulders and he is winning games,” he added.

Before the recently held Asia Cup 2022, questions were raised over Virat Kohli’s place in the Indian T20I team as he was enduring an extended lean patch. However, the former skipper silenced his critics, finishing the six-team tournament as the second highest run-getter with 276 runs to his name from five innings at an average of 92 and a strike rate of 147.50, including one century and two fifties.

Commenting on Kohli, Narine said the veteran batter was bound to make a comeback.

“It’s a part of the game. For someone like him who has been so good for a very long time, it is bound to happen. He is a quality player. He is one of the best in the world so he is always going to come back better,” he remarked.

Over the years, there have been reports in the media about a rift between Rohit and Kohli. While the debate on who is a better batter will never end, Narine said the fans should be happy that both of them are playing for India.

“People just like things to talk about. When guys are doing good, they always try to compare who is better and who is not. Everyone is good in their own way and own right and they play for the love of the game and their country than to outdo someone,” Narine explained.
