Gill was named the Player of the Series against Zimbabwe for his 245 runs in 3 ODIs.
India opener Shubman Gill has been the biggest gainer in the latest update of the ICC ODI rankings for batters as thanks to a bumper Zimbabwe ODI series in which he scored 245 runs, Gill has moved to 38th spot in the rankings, a jump of 45 places.
Gill had scored 82* in the first ODI which India won by 10 wickets and then scored his maiden international century, 130 in 97 balls in the third ODI to help India clinch the series 3-0. He was awarded the Player of the Series as well.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli remained static at the no.5 spot with 744 rating points as he was rested from both the West Indies tour and the Zimbabwe tour. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who also didn't play in the series against Zimbabwe, was static in the sixth spot.
Unfortunately, veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan, who scored 81*, 33, and 40 to accumulate 154 runs in the three ODIs against Zimbabwe lost a place to move to the 12th spot.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has continued his lead as the top-ranked ODI batter in the world (891) and is distantly followed by South African Rassie van der Dussen (789). In the bowling rankings, New Zealand star pacer Trent Boult remains on top while Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan leads the all-rounder's list.
