The ICC announced the Men's T20I team of the decade.
It is a big honor by ICC to recognize MS Dhoni’s achievements as captain for India in the T20I format, given that he led the team to the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2014 and into the semi-finals in the 2016 edition.
He retired from the game in August of 2020, having made a total of 1617 runs in 98 matches with a best of 56 at a strike rate of 126.13.
MS Dhoni will not take part in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy for IPL preparation
The other Indians who feature in this T20I team of the decade are Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah.
Chris Gayle is slated to open with Rohit Sharma, with Aaron Finch and Virat Kohli to follow next. AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, and MS Dhoni are the finishers for the team, along with Kieron Pollard providing muscle at the back end of the innings.
Rashid Khan is the lone specialist spinner in the team. Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga will helm the fast bowling duties for the ICC T20I team of the decade which bizarrely sees only three frontline bowlers in the team, apart from part-timers.
