In a cricketer’s life no matter how talented he is, there are times when every ball is hitting in the middle of the bat but there are also times when a cricketer goes through a bit of a rough patch.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma who was on top of his game in the last year’s World Cup 2019 in England as he kept churning out centuries in almost every match while talking to Kevin Pietersen revealed what according to him was the lowest point in his career.

Not getting picked for the 2011 World Cup squad, that was the saddest moment as it was happening in our own backyard, the final was played at my home ground,” Rohit said.

The Mumbai based right-hand batsman then went on to admit that the World Cup 2011 snub was due to his own performances and that he was not at his best then as he said, “It was due to my performances, I was not at my best.

But after that, the 32-year-old has worked really hard and is now permanent on the Indian side. After World Cup 2019, where he smashed five centuries (most by any batsman in a World Cup), continued his good form in the longest format as well, as he started to open in Tests.

Rohit also had a good run in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand as he scored runs in every single game before getting ruled out due to an injury in the last T20 fixture.
