Virat Kohli to lead the Indian team for the four Tests series down under.
The Australian tour will remain one of the biggest challenges for the Virat Kohli led side, which is coming off a 1-4 defeat at the hands of England recently and despite winning 2-0 against Windies at home, their overseas Test record has taken a hit this season.
The squad will be led by Virat Kohli, while M Vijay manages to make a comeback into the squad, while KL Rahul and Prithvi Shaw remain the other opening options. A big name missing from the team that played in England is Shikhar Dhawan, who didn't manage to score a single fifty on the entire tour to England in international matches.
Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Hanuma Vihari retain their places from the England series.
However, making his return to the whites is India’s Asia Cup 2018 winning captain Rohit Sharma, while wicketkeeping duties will fall on the shoulders of Rishabh Pant and Parthiv Patel. R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav are the three spinners on the tour.
The fast bowling duties will be done by Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
