MI and LSG will square off at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday.
Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Rohit Sharma and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) all-rounder Shardul Thakur engaged in a lighthearted banter on the eve of their face-off in the IPL 2025 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Taking to social media platform X, MI shared a heartwarming video of Rohit’s interaction with Shardul and LSG mentor Zaheer Khan.
As Rohit walked in, Shardul made a cheeky remark, "Rohit Sharma ek hi jan ko milne aata hai ground me - The Lord."
Rohit responded with a grin, "Khudko 'The Lord' bol raha hain."
To which, Shardul quipped, "Aur kya? Tune hi rakha hai naam."
Rohit then turned to Zaheer, greeting him with a warm hug, "Mr Khan, how are you man?"
Shardul Thakur, who went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, joined LSG as a replacement for injured fast bowler Mohsin Khan. He has picked up six wickets in three appearances this season, including a four-wicket haul against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
On the other hand, Rohit is struggling for runs in the ongoing IPL. He has returned with scores of 0, 8 and 13 in MI’s three matches so far.
The LSG versus MI fixture on Friday (April 4) is a crucial one, with both teams struggling to find consistency after winning just one of their first three games.
