Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals are due to square off in Jaipur on March 28.
Ahead of the game, RR shared a reunion between their star spinner R Ashwin and DC skipper Rishabh Pant, who made his return to competitive cricket in the ongoing IPL after a 15-month hiatus due to a horrific car accident.
In the video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Ashwin was seen encouraging Pant when the latter fine-tuned his skills at the nets ahead of the game.
"Come on Rishabh, come on Rishabh. Keep playing yaar," Ashwin was heard saying in the clip.
Interestingly, Pant responded with a big six. To which, Ashwin remarked, "What a shot yar. A little bit of encouragement and you hit a six."
Subsequently, DC head coach Ricky Ponting passed a light-hearted comment as he said, "Please stand behind Rishabh in the game also."
Rishabh Pant also met and greeted Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson and opener Jos Buttler with high-fives and hugs as he entered the stadium for nets. The DC captain also had some fun time with RR’s big hitter, Shimron Hetmyer.
Delhi Capitals will look to register their first victory when they take on Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. While RR started their season with a win over Lucknow Super Giants, the Capitals lost to Punjab Kings in their campaign opener.
