Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are the only three franchises yet to clinch the coveted IPL title despite participating in the competition since the inaugural 2008 edition.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag played for PBKS (then Kings XI Punjab) for a couple of seasons. Almost a decade later, Sehwag has opened up on his time with the franchise.

The 45-year-old took a dig at PBKS, saying that his pace of scoring runs slowed down due to the team's lackluster performances.

"Jab mein Punjab mein gaya tab mera strike rate gir gaya. Woh kehte hai na ke jaisi sangati waisa behave karte ho. Toh waha ki sangati waisi hi thi. Jeet te the nahi, khel te acha the nahi, toh mera game aur thoda kharab ho gaya (When I went to Punjab, my strike rate went down. There's a saying you behave like your company. Same was the case. They did not win anything or played well)," Sehwag said while speaking on Star Sports.

In the ongoing IPL season, Punjab Kings opened their campaign with a four-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in Mullanpur on March 23.

However, the Shikhar Dhawan-led side suffered a four-wicket defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their second match of the season.

Asked to bat first, PBKS posted 176/6 on the board, led by skipper Shikhar Dhawan's 45 off 37 balls and useful contributions by Jitesh Sharma (27 in 20 balls) and Sam Curran (23 in 17 balls).

Chasing the target, Virat Kohli slammed 77 off 49 balls with 11 fours and two sixes. After his dismissal, Dinesh Karthik (28* off 10) and Mahipal Lomror (17* off 8) stepped up and provided the finishing touch, taking RCB over the line with four deliveries to spare.
