IPL 2022: CSK's Shivam Dube speaks on realizing things about himself after words of wisdom from MS Dhoni

Dube's best outing in IPL 2022 was 95* against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 12.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had a forgettable season in IPL 2022, as for the second time in their IPL history, they failed to qualify for the playoffs, and for the first time, they lost 10 of their 14 games. 

One of the bright spots for the CSK this season was 28-year-old Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube was bought in IPL 2022 auction for INR 4 crores and talked about his experience of playing for the four-time IPL champs and under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

And, in a recent interview with the franchise's official website, the top player, who has also represented India in one ODI and 13 T20I matches, discussed his time with CSK and under MS Dhoni.

"I think what I have achieved in this IPL, I have never achieved before in my past career in the IPL. Mahi bhai gave me some words of wisdom and I didn’t realise a few things about myself until he brought it up. He said, 'You're very talented’ and asked me to keep working hard and believe in myself," he said in a short video clip of the interview that was shared by the franchise’s official Twitter handle.

Dube had previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019 and Rajasthan Royals for two years (2020–2021) before joining the Chennai-based team in IPL 2022. Dube scored 289 runs with an average of 28.90 and a strike rate of 156.21 in 11 IPL 2022 matches. He concluded the season as CSK's second-highest run scorer.
