Rohit has often been criticized for his physique.
India’s opening batsman and Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation for the upcoming 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 which will take place from 19th September to 10th November in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
With all players restricted to their respective hotel rooms over the quarantine period of six days in the UAE, Rohit was hitting the gym to keep himself fit after spending nearly six months in lockdown to return in tune for the upcoming biggest annual T20 carnival.
Rohit, the most successful IPL captain with four trophies, has yet again given his fans a glimpse of his training how he is gearing for the upcoming IPL 13 by sharing a couple of pictures of him having work out in the gym on his Twitter handle on Tuesday (September 1).
The photos showed the swashbuckling batsman's bulging muscles, as he is en route to gaining full match fitness following the COVID-19 forced break for the tournament later this month. The Hitman captioned the post: “Hit the gym like it’s a short ball.”
Meanwhile, the IPL’s most successful franchise MI had their first training session in the UAE on Sunday after spending six days in quarantine and Rohit said he felt good to be back hitting the ball following the shutdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rohit had stated, “[It] feels good firstly just to be out here. Even though it’s only for an hour, but we will take it. It is pretty hot out here, so just making sure that you get used to the conditions, the pitches here, and all of that. So [it will be] nice and easy for the first few days.”
