Kohli discussed about review with Shubman Gill before walking off.
R Ashwin (113) and Ravindra Jadeja (86) added 199 runs for the seventh wicket to rescue India from 144/6. The Indian top order had been rocked by Hasan Mahmud in the first innings, as Rohit Sharma (6), Virat Kohli (6), and Shubman Gill (0) all fell cheaply.
But first Rishabh Pant (32) and Yashashvi Jaiswal (56) rebuilt the innings before Ashwin and Jadeja took over and hammered the Bangladeshi bowling.
In response, Bangladesh could only muster 149 runs in their first innings, as Jasprit Bumrah (4/50) led the way for the Indian team.
In their second innings, Rohit Sharma again fell for cheap, scoring 5 runs and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 10 runs. It was up to Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill to rebuild the innings and Kohli began nicely, striking a four straight away.
However, on the second ball of the 19th over, bowled by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Kohli faced a familiar chink in his armor. Mehidy bowled a flighted full ball straight to Virat Kohli, who had been playing most of the spin- both off-spin and left-arm spin - to the on side.
Mehidy got the ball to beat the inside edge of Kohli and thudded into the pads. Mehidy appealed and the umpire had no hesitation in giving out. Kohli looked in doubt and had a chat with Shubman Gill about taking a review, but was dissuaded from doing so.
Later on, replays and snicko revealed that the ball had taken the inside edge of Virat Kohli’s bat before hitting his pads. Kohli erred by not taking a DRS review which would have saved him.
After the dismissal, India captain Rohit Sharma seemed peeved why Virat Kohli didn't go for the review. Also, the umpire Richard Kettleborough was seen smirking on the camera at Kohli's mistake.
