Kohli is making his comeback to the shortest format for India in the ongoing second T20I against Afghanistan.
This match marks the return of Virat Kohli to the shortest format for India since November 2022. The batting stalwart missed the series opener against Afghanistan in Mohali due to personal reasons.
On his comeback T20I, Kohli dropped a difficult catch of Afghanistan batter Gulbadin Naib during the ninth over of the first innings.
Naib went for a big heave towards long-on while facing Shivam Dube but didn’t get the desired connection.
It was a tough chance for Kohli, who ran in and dived forward to catch the ball. As it turned out, he got both hands to the ball while being in the air but the ball didn’t stick.
Nonetheless, Virat Kohli’s brilliant effort was appreciated by the Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who clapped for the former.
