India registered a resounding 36-run victory over England in the fifth T20I.
Asked to bat first, the hosts rode on skipper Virat Kohli’s 52-ball 80* and vice-captain Rohit Sharma’s 34-ball 64 to pile up a massive 224/2 on the board. Suryakumar Yadav (32 off 17 balls) and Hardik Pandya (39* off 17 balls) also made notable contributions with the bat.
In reply, the visitors could only manage 188/8 in their stipulated 20 overs despite half-centuries from Jos Buttler (52) and David Malan (68).
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the stand-out bowler for India, claiming 2 wickets by conceding only 15 runs in his four overs.
By virtue of this victory, India also clinched the five-match T20I series 3-2.
