Team India once again proved why they are probably the best team in international cricket today. In the recently concluded 3-match T20I series against Bangladesh, the Men in Blue experimented with their lineup and rested captain and star batsman Virat Kohli. Also missing in action were Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah for a variety of reasons.

Bangladesh did the unthinkable in the first T20I at Delhi and defeated the hosts for the very first time in the format. However, the Indian team came back into the series and showed tremendous fight in the next two T20Is at Rajkot and Nagpur and won their 4th series after being 1-0 down in a three-match series.

BCCI members to push for extended term for Sourav Ganguly and his team: Report

It was a team effort as Rohit Sharma led from the front as captain and with help of experience of Chahal and youthful exuberance of Deepak Chahar, Washington Sundar, and others, managed to win the two matches and pocket the series, despite the odds being stacked against them.

Therefore, Team COC presents to you the Players’ ratings of the Indian team for the Bangladesh T20I series.

Here are the COC Players’ rating for the Indian team for T20I series

Deepak Chahar- 10/10
Deepak Chahar had the responsibility of being the leading strike bowler for India in this series and played his role to perfection. However, unlike the perception of being only a new ball bowler, Rohit utilized him well as a death overs bowler as well. He picked 8 wickets with an economy of 5.41 with the match-winning and world record T20I bowling figures of 6/7 and was named the Man of the Match and Player of the series as well.

Shreyas Iyer- 8/10
Shreyas Iyer scored 108 runs with the best score of 62, his maiden fifty in the format for India in the third and important match. He helped India reach a formidable total in the end. He had also provided important contributions in both previous matches as well. He has definitely cemented his place in the middle order for foreseeable future.

Team management has given me a “heads up” for No. 4 slot, says Shreyas Iyer

Rohit Sharma- 7/10
Rohit Sharma might have made only one significant score of 85 in the series, which came in the second T20I at Rajkot; but overall, he led the team well. Especially when the bowlers were under pressure in Nagpur as Naim and Mithun were going great guns, Rohit kept his calm. His utilization of bowling resources was amazing.

KL Rahul- 6/10
KL Rahul had one good inning in the three-match series which came in Rajkot. His 52 was the basis on which Iyer and others managed to take India to past 170 runs batting first on a slow track after being put in by Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah. He showed composure under pressure and thrived to score a valiant fifty.

Yuzvendra Chahal- 6/10

Yuzvendra Chahal proved to be the best bowler in spinners picking up four wickets, but he kept the runs down in middle overs and even bowled in death when asked to. The leggie showed that wrist spinners are a must in the shortest format and keeping him out of the team was a blunder, to say the least.

Washington Sundar- 5/10
Washington Sundar picked just 1 wicket and scored 14 runs in the three matches, but showed glimpses of his ability with the bat as he smacked two sixes in the first match in Delhi to help India reach 148 runs in the end. His bowling at the start was wonderful and kept runs low with an economy of 7.00.

Shivam Dube- 4/10
Shivam Dube made his T20I debut in the 1000th T20I match at Delhi, but couldn’t do much with the bat in the three matches. With the ball as well, he didn’t do much but came good with the ball when it was most needed in the third T20I when picked up three important wickets to turn the tide of the game in favor of India and proved his worth.

Shikhar Dhawan- 3/10
Shikhar Dhawan has been undergoing a torrid time with the bat at the top and it continued in this series as well as he failed to reach fifty in any of the three matches. In fact, he conjured just 91 runs in the three matches with a best of 41 with a strike rate of 107 only, putting question marks on his place in the XI.

Manish Pandey- 3/10
Manish Pandey got just one chance in the series and made the most of it with quick-fire innings of 22* in 13 balls. On the field, he was electric and kept the morale of the team up with his above-average fielding.

"We have a long way to go in T20 cricket", Mahmudullah weigh in over series loss

Rishabh Pant- 1/10
Rishabh Pant’s poor batting and keeping behind the stumps including schoolboy mistakes were the talk of the town. He made just 33 runs including slow innings of 27 in the first match, while made many mistakes behind the stumps, including two erroneous DRS calls as well. Though Rohit Sharma asked the journalists to leave Pant alone, it seems the youngster’s confidence has been shot and he needs some time away from the game to gather himself.

Krunal Pandya- 1/10
Krunal Pandya failed to pick any wicket in the two matches he played and also went for runs at 8.16 rpo. With the bat, he played one vital inning of 15 runs in Delhi match, but apart from that Pandya couldn’t manage to do much.

Khaleel Ahmed- 1/10
Khaleel Ahmed was given a chance to shine in all the three matches, but he only succeeded in getting trolled on social media for his woeful bowling where he was hit for 7 consecutive boundaries across two matches. He picked 2 wickets for 108 runs in three matches at an economy of 9.00 rpo and most pundits came to the conclusion that he needs more time to groom his game for the international level.
