MS Dhoni won the toss and put Bangladesh in to bat. India bowled wonderfully well, keeping the opposition to just 120/5. Sabbir Rahman made 32*, while Mahmudullah made 33* in 18 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. For India, Ashwin picked 1/14 and Bumrah picked 1/13 was the pick of the bowlers.
In the chase, Al-Amin removed Rohit Sharma early for 1, but Shikhar Dhawan made 60 in 44 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. The remaining runs were completed by Kohli, who made 41* in 28 balls with 5 fours, while MS Dhoni made 20 in just 6 balls with 2 sixes and 1 four, with one of those sixes ending the game for the Indian team and made them Asia Cup champions.

On a difficult pitch, Bangladesh put India into bat first and the team struggled to 146/7. Suresh Raina made 30, Kohli and Dhawan made 20 odd each, as the Bangla bowlers bowled tight lines and Al-Amin (2/37) and Mustafizur (2/34) were the best bowlers.

In reply, the Bangladesh team had the game under their control for 99% of the duration. Tamim (35), Sabbir and Shakib with 20-odd each took them to the cusp of victory. Jasprit Bumrah brought the game into India’s favor by bowling a tight 19th over giving away just 6 runs, leaving the Tigers to get 11 runs off the last over.
Hardik Pandya took the ball, but Mushfiqur Rahim hit two fours on the first two balls to bring down the run needed to 3. But then Pandya hit back with wickets of Rahim and Mahmudullah in two straight balls. With 2 runs needed off the last ball, Pandya bowled it wide and Dhoni collected the ball, sprinting towards the stumps to beat Mustafizur Rahman to the crease and India won the match by 1 run in a nail biter.

Bangladesh batted first after Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss. Sabbir Rahman made 77 in 50 balls with 4 sixes and 7 fours, while Mahmudullah made 21, while Mehidy made 19*, as Bangladesh made 166/8. Yuzvendra Chahal picked 3/18 and Unadkat picked 2/33 for the Indian team.

In reply, Rohit Sharma made 56, while Rahul (24) and Pandey (28) did their best, but an out of form Vijay Shankar led to both of them getting out trying to up the run rate. Finally, it came down to 34 runs in last two overs with new man Dinesh Karthik on the strike with Rubel Hossain ready to bowl. What happened next has been etched in the history of T20I cricket in golden letters.
Dinesh Karthik slammed the first three balls for a six, four and a six again, took a double and then hit the last ball for a four again to make 22 runs in that important penultimate over to bring India back into the game. Now 12 runs were needed in 6 balls of the last over bowled by Soumya Sarkar.
Sarkar bowled brilliantly well leaving India to get 10 runs off 4 balls and then Shankar hit a four off the 4th ball and then got out on the fifth ball. India needed five runs on the last ball, but Karthik was on strike. Soumya bowled the ball full and wide, Karthik hit it over the cover boundary clean for a six, taking India to an impossible-looking win and leaving Bangladesh distraught and Sri Lankan fans rejoiced as well, with India becoming champions.
