Mohammad Amir was the pick of Pakistani bowlers as he returned the figures 3/47, while Hasan Ali picked 1/84 and Wahab Riaz picked 1/71.

Hardik Pandya also picked two wickets in two balls, removing the experienced duo of Hafeez (9) and Shoaib Malik for a golden duck. Shankar also removed Pakistani skipper Sarfaraz for 11 before rains came down for the second time to stop proceedings.

The match resumed after a lengthy delay and DLS method was used to revise the target to 302 runs in 40 overs, meaning that Pakistan needed to make 136 runs in 5 remaining overs. In the end, Pakistan managed just 212/6 in 40 overs and India won the match by 89 runs via DLS method.
